ASG Defender v 1.0.4 has been compliance tested by Avaya's DeveloperConnection Technical Team and has been officially accepted as compliant on March 22, 2007. This certifies the Defender's compliance with the following: Avaya Inc.'s Modular Messaging release 3.1.

Daylight Savings Time Release Now Available

Starting in March 2007, Daylight Saving Time in the United States and Canada will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. This product support notice explains how to ensure that the ASG Guard II and ASG Defender products are ready for the change.

New ASG Guard II - CM/CMS Application Note now available

These Application Notes describe the steps required for configuring the Avaya Call Management System (CMS) and the Avaya Communication Manager to support Initialization and Administration System (INADS) alarm origination and forward SNMP traps in INADS format to the ION Networks Access Security Gateway (ASG) Guard II.
Information in these Application Notes has been obtained through compliance testing and additional technical discussions. Testing was conducted via the DeveloperConnection Program at the Avaya Solution and Interoperability Test Lab.

RoHS-Compliant versions of ASG Defender to be available 9/11/2006

Beginning 9/11/2006, RoHS-compliant versions of the ASG Defender will be available for shipment in 2-port, 4-port, and 8-port variants. The RoHS Material codes are as follows:

2-Port: 700426042
4-Port: 700426059
8-Port: 700426067

8-Port ASG Defender to be available 9/11/2006

As of 9/11/2006 the ASG Defender 8-port security appliance will be available for order. The 8-port Defender features 8 serial ports, two ethernet ports, and one internal modem. Designed for medium to large data centers, the ASG Defender 8-port will support all of the Avaya devices currently supported by the ASG Defender 2- and 4-Port versions.

Daylight Savings Time Updates

Due to the changes for 2006-2007 Daylight Savings Time, there will be new releases for the ASG Guard II and ASG Defender. ASG Defenders will need to be updated to version 1.0.4 or later to be compatible with the new DST standards. A configuration file will be necessary to update any ASG Guard II to the new Daylight Savings Time rules. Contact your account representative for more information.
